Beit Tamar has a network of homes to stabilize girls dealing with eating disorders from the religious- Orthodox public. There is a unique holistic treatment, assembled by a multi-professional team, with an emphasis on a homely atmosphere, warmth and personal attention to each girl, professionalism, and compassion. The residence was built in accordance with the needs of the girls. It looks like a big, spacious, beautiful private house, along with the necessary adjustments for the girls’ benefit.

The home is suitable for 10-12 girls aged 18 and up. During their stay at the house, they will receive personalized treatment as part of the medical continuum for rehabilitation in the community. The girls will be attended to by professional teams, together with educators and treatment. With a focus on an overall structure – meals, treatment groups, enrichment groups, studies and employment, in addition to individual and personal care.

In a combined process of treatment and rehabilitation, until the girls are back on their full life track.

The blend of the team at Beit Tamar is a winner.
A professional team with many years of experience, along with an unusually warm, loving and dedicated team, 24/7 for the benefit of patients. I was privileged to know and work together.

Dr. Shwartz, Pediatrician in the South

Until I met the professional staff at “Beit Tamar”, I was close to despair. My daughter’s condition was deteriorating, and we didn’t find a suitable treatment center. Straight after the first meeting an initial beneficial connection grew between my daughter, G., and the staff. At the same time, they directed me when to get involved and when to let go. I felt that she was in a safe place.

Rivka L., G’s mother, from the religious-Orthodox community

I battled with an eating disorder for 3 years. I didn’t understand the need for treatment, and I liked how I looked. I refused to go into different institutions mainly because there were no other girls like me. I came to Beit Tamar pessimistic. As soon as I arrived, I felt at home. The staff was understanding, accepting and non-judgmental. And the girls there became my family. Thank you so much, dear staff! You saved me.

Hadas, 19

Eating disorders is a topic that greatly developed in the past years, especially in the Orthodox sector where there was no treatment structure at all. As a consultant in school, I found myself helpless in the search of a suitable framework. The center was built exactly when I needed the framework for 2 girls from the Highschool I counsel in. I immediately found in the staff an address for every professional matter. Continue to work and grow. We need you!

Bracha, Counselor in a Highschool in Jerusalem

I recommend that you open more treatment frameworks such as these in more cities. You saved my daughter’s life both physically and mentally. May you merit to save many more girls.

Menashe K., Yehudit’s father
